Orchard Street is New Zealand's independent guide to online casinos, sports betting and crypto gambling. We exist to help Kiwi players find safe, fair, fast-paying sites — and to tell the truth about the ones that aren't worth your time.
Our Mission
The offshore gambling market is noisy and full of inflated claims. Our mission is simple: test every operator with real money, report honestly, and rank sites on what actually matters to New Zealand players — licensing, NZD payout speed, fair bonus terms and game quality. We never let commercial relationships influence our rankings.
How We're Funded
Orchard Street is free to use. When you sign up to an operator through our links we may earn a commission, which keeps the lights on. This never affects our scores or positions — our rankings are determined solely by our independent review methodology. We feature sites that don't pay us and exclude ones that do when they fall short.
Our Standards
- Every casino is tested with real deposits and withdrawals.
- We verify licensing and game-fairness certification.
- We update rankings monthly and after any major operator change.
- We lead with responsible gambling on every page.
The New Zealand Context
We track NZ's evolving regulation closely, including the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 (in force 1 May 2026), under which the Department of Internal Affairs will license up to 15 online casinos ahead of a regulated market launch on 1 December 2026. As licensed local operators go live, we'll review and rank them alongside the offshore sites Kiwis use today.
Meet the Team
Our reviews are led by Gareth Williams, our senior casino reviewer, with fact-checking by the wider Orchard Street editorial team. Meet our authors →

Responsible Gambling
Gambling should be fun, not a way to make money. Only ever bet what you can afford to lose, set deposit and time limits before you play, and never chase losses. All licensed operators we recommend offer tools such as deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion.
